Music: The Wombats - Let’s Dance to Joy Division

Today was a pretty exciting day considering that I only left the house to go to the bank for ten minutes. Sebastian, who has been pretty much MIA since he left for the Dominican Republic, called me just as I was getting into my car. I had no idea it was him because I deleted his number from my phone so I wouldn’t be tempted to call when he was gone. When his number came up I timidly answered it, “Hello. Who is this?” Then as he started talking I screamed out loud and frightened my next door neighbor.

We talked for about a half an hour and kept interrupting each other the whole time. He just wanted to know so much about my summer and vice versa, but I had to cut it abruptly short so I could deposit some money. I found out that he works an insane job with hours that are from 2 a.m. to 7 a.m., and then he also works at a diner other days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. He wants to put in his two weeks but he lost his iPod when he was on vacation and he has to save up money for another one. Basically, aside from the three weeks he was away, he has had no free time. Even when I visited him in early June I had to stay with other friends because he had to work all day long.

As you all may have noticed, our “long distance relationship” failed miserably, it’s almost laughable, but it was my fault as much as it was his. Like I’ve mentioned before, the phone is just not my thing. I can’t talk to someone for over an hour even if I haven’t seen them in months. I’m just not that type of girl. :/

Anyway, today our conversation was great and gave me butterflies. I don’t think there will be another one anytime soon because of my inability to pick up the phone and his busy schedule, but it made us realize that if we do decide to be together again in the fall, we’ll be able to pick up where we left off. That’s a comforting thought, and now I’m even more anxious to get back to LAC!
