Growing Old, Quickly

To add to my repertoire of old-lady spinster qualities I’m learning how to crochet. I already have an unhealthy love of cats, bad eyesight due to reading dusty books in horrible lighting, and taken a vow of celibacy for next year. So, basically I’ll be sitting in my room, crocheting hats, listening to music, and finishing that last chapter before I go to bed.
(But, honestly, I can’t think of anything better right now. :D)
I love crocheting, idc. Though, admittedly, I like knitting more. I’m just really bad about actually finishing a project completely before I jump to the next one XD
I knit too. I do it when we’re in rehearsals and I feel helpless. It makes me feel useful. But then again, I am old.
Ummm, I can’t knit OR crochet. Tried learning how to knit a couple of years ago, but gave it up after about a minute :( I just don’t have the patience. And I have the same problem, Goodbyemidnight! :D I;m always moving on to something else before finishing what I was doing (by the way, is goodbye midnight a reference to The Spring Standards?).
i don’t know what the reference is but i was just about to comment on how i heart the name.
GoodbyeMidnight, is crocheting easier than knitting? I’ve watched some youtube videos and crocheting just seems like the easier hobby to get a handle on.
Personally, I find knitting easier just because I suck at finding where to stick the crochet hook to make the next stich half the time. It’s definately harder to learn to knit by yourself than crochet, though. Once you know how to do the basics, it’s pretty easy to keep going. I had someone there to show me how to start and do the the basics. So whenever I screwed up, I could just ask her to show me what I did and how to fix it. I’d recomend finding someone who knows what they’re doing to show you how to start if you want to learn. And demand that they teach you how to purl in addition to casting on and the knit stitch. Trying desperately to figure out how to purl from books is difficult (at least if you’re me XD).
Goodbye Midnight is completely a reference to The Spring Standards. Love them and the song and decided it made for a pretty good username. =)
