The Last Video

So this is our last video.

Kait said her goodbyes in her most recent post, but I just want to reiterate how honored I am to have been part of this project with you. We had a blast making this video - it’s a tribute of sorts. If anyone else is mourning the end of the experiment and looking for an outlet, post a video response.

Lots of love,
Brian

  1. my heart just exploded with true happiness.

  2. The lyrics are posted here: http://www.kerrigan-lowdermilk.com/lyrics/the-freshman-experiment. I’m so glad you like it Saramaile. Everyone’s comments for the past few days have made me so happysad.

  3. I’m in your music video, THAT’S SO COOL!! You guys are awesome! Now that FreshEx has come to an end, I want to tell you how thrilled I was to find this site. You see, I’m interested in doing what you do…writing a musical. I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned from listening to your music and watching how you put things together. I feel like I’ve learned so much…Musical Theater 101 courtesy of Kerrigan-Lowdermilk. It was really generous of you to share your process with us. Your songs are so good that I find myself singing them in my head at various times. I think you’re both very talented and I see great things ahead of you…more awards, successful shows, financial abundance!

A while back I wrote a song about you. I’m still working on the music, but I thought I’d post the lyrics. Best of luck. I’ll definitely keep watching Youtube for your music videos.

    The Kerrigan-Lowdermilk Way

Wish I could write, find words to say,
Turn feelings into lyrics, make musical plays.
Wish I could do what Kerrigan does,
Spending her time in a life that she loves.

Tell me Lowdermilk, where does all that confidence come from?
Writing, creating, performing and getting it done?
To live in New York would be such a treat,
Working on Broadway, the people you meet.

Man, I could see my life that way,
I could really see myself that way.
    I’d like to write,
    All day and night,
    Write it the Kerrigan-Lowdermilk way.

Wish I could riff on black and white keys,
Eat lots of greasy food covered with cheese.
Wish I could build a song to its peak,
Ready for singers with brilliant technique.

Tell me Lowermilk, what’s it like to win a big award?
Showcases, workshops, new readings you’ll never get bored.
To be so damn young, you’re just twenty-eight,
Living bohemia, got to be fate.

Man, I could see my life that way,
I could really see myself that way.
    I’d love to do,
    The same thing as you,
    Do it the Kerrigan-Lowdermilk way.

Travel to colleges show how it’s done,
Sharing my vast expertise with the young,
You’re the best, you’re so fresh, living your art,
How in the hell did you get so damn smart?

Wish I could sing as pretty as Kait,
Belt out a high G or even an A!
Wish I could see my stuff on the stage,
Get all the hype and be all the rage.

I’d write “How to return home”, and keep it all inside my head.
Compose it, transpose it, record it and put it to bed.
I wish I could be as talented as you,
But one head will never be as genius as two.

Man, I could see my life that way,
I could really see myself that way,
    What can I say?
    I’d love to play,
    Play it the Kerrigan-Lowdermilk way.

    The Kerrigan-Lowdermilk way.

  4. Oh man, what a great video & song! I liked your guys’ glasses (: and of course I’m super thrilled to be mentioned. I’m gonna miss checking this site obsessively…

  5. There are no words, this has all been amazing even if I was late to the party I am still so very thankful that I got to follow what I did get to follow.

  6. I agree with Matthew M. I was just getting into this. :( And I’m still a freshman (school where I’m from is June-March) and was hoping to occassionally live vicariously through CC and PC’s posts whenever I wasn’t up to living my own life. Kait and Brian, you guys are amazing. I wish I could be doing what I love to do just as you guys do. I check YouTube almost everyday for new things from you guys, and I hope to go to one of your shows in the near future. I really, really wish this could go on. :( All the best to the both of you, CC and PC!
